We can help you thrive in a career that's a world away from the everyday.nWhat's the role?nThe Environment Manager is accountable for driving exceptional environmental performance across Gatwick Airport through the strategic application of GAL's integrated management systems, including ISO 14001. The Environment Manager will act as a key enabler in delivering Gatwick's environmental compliance requirements and commitments, supporting long-term resilience and sustainable growth. This role ensures that environmental priorities are embedded within operational decision-making and aligned with the airport's broader business and sustainability strategy.nWhat you'll be doingnnEnsure that clear, accessible, and up-to-date environmental standards and procedures are in place across all business units, enabling consistent compliance and best practice.nManage and monitor all environmental consents, permits, and licenses, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements. Act as the key liaison with environmental regulators and ensure timely submissions and renewals.nProvide strategic direction and support to the team of environmental professionals, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary information, tools, and guidance to champion the HS&E agenda.nDrive the implementation of GAL's HS&E strategy and the Second Decade of Change programme, ensuring alignment with the airport's overarching business objectives.nLead the development and delivery of proactive environmental initiatives, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to identify and manage environmental risks and opportunities.nnDo you have what we're looking for?nnChartered Environment professional with an accredited Institution (eg. ISEP), with expertise in Environment and Sustainability compliance at a senior levelnProven track record in the delivery of Environmental objectives associated typically with extensive experience.nAbility to audit and support Business Units as the airports management system moves towards a more devolved system.nProven ability to influence others, including senior stakeholdersnStrong leadership, supervisory skills and experiencenAirport operational experience preferablenExperience managing and ensuring compliance with environmental permits is desirable (including UK ETS, MCP and Waste)nnWhat's in it for you?We value our people and reward every employee fairly with a highly competitive package, enhanced by an annual bonus, share scheme, pension, and lifestyle insurance.
