Immediate opportunity for a temporary Payments Analyst based in central Reading (office based Monday to Friday) working for this fast paced exciting Fintech business.The temporary payments analyst role is based in Reading and offers a unique opportunity to work closely with innovative payment systems that power businesses of all sizes. You will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless operation of our client's payment platform, handling daily payment and funding reconciliations, system monitoring, customer onboarding, and operational controls. If you're passionate about data analysis, have a knack for working with payments workflows, and have a good level of Microsoft Excel and Access skills. Payments Analyst: ResponsibilitiesSet up new customers on their in-house payments processing system, ensuring a smooth onboarding experienceMonitor the platform to confirm all systems operate as expectedReconcile daily payments received versus payments issued for accuracyReview account setups to ensure compliance and customer satisfactionMaintain and monitor real-time reporting to guarantee accurate statement issuanceExecute internal controls to uphold operational integrity and prevent funding issuesEscalate or resolve settlement issues promptly, providing clear feedbackManage and update customer data, maintaining data integrityMonitor financial exposures and support risk management activitiesEssential requirements and backgroundStrong grasp of financial accounting and data interpretation relating to financial outcomesProven analytical skills with attention to detailExcellent organisational skills and the ability to multi-task in a deadline-driven environmentConfident working with numbers and interpreting financial dataProactive, logical approach to problem-solving and decision-makingFast learner with a willingness to adapt and learn new processesProficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups) and AccessExperience in payments technology, workflows, or financial services is highly desirableExperience working within a regulated industry and operational control environment is a plusCommutable into Central Reading (short walk from Reading Station) and willing to work from the office Monday to FridayLocation & StructureLocation: Reading Town Centre (near to Train Station)in-office role with parking available onsite two days per week (parking rota in place)Working hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:30Work setup: In-office environment designed for collaboration and innovation
