Your new companyMy client supports primarily highway projects across the East Midlands, taking them from conception to completion. Their services include maintenance, electrical works, mechanics, construction, environmental, civil engineering and more.Their environmental team operates across acoustics, contaminated land, ecology, GIS, landscape design and planning. You'll be supporting a team of ecologists who work on a range of projects from major highways, planning, educational buildings, residential to name a few.Your new roleMy client is looking for an experienced Ecologist to join the environmental management & design team, working ideally from Nottinghamshire but open to further afield on a more remote basis.You will help the ecology team with technical oversight, project management and the delivery of environmental services. Part time role of 2 - 3 days a week.Main duties will include:Provide expert ecological advice to colleagues, clients and external partiesLead, coach, and develop junior ecologistsLead on ecological surveys (Protected species, habitats and more)Write detailed ecological reportsEnsure successful delivery of ecology consultancy projectsClient liaising to ensure that financial targets and stakeholder requirements are metWhat you'll need to succeedA Degree in an Environment, Ecology or related fieldEcology experience with relevant UK legislation in a consultancy; offering technical oversight for projectsAbility to lead and support a teamExcellent communication and report writing skillsA driving license and access to a car - Willingness to travel to Nottingham once a month at leastMembership with CIEEM - would be desirable Holder of one or more protected species licenses; bats, badgers, GCN - would be desirableGIS or other relevant software knowledge - would be desirable What you'll get in return£300 - £500 p/day DOE - can be flexible for the right candidateFlexible working pattern - open to part or full-time arrangementsPart time 2 - 3 days a weekOpportunity to go permanent if you wish and if feasibleWhat you need to do nowIf you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.If this job isn't quite right for you but you are looking for a new position, please contact us for a confidential discussion on your career.Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
