Job DescriptionThis is a great opportunity for a Paralegal to join a fast paced and friendly Court of Protection team based in Reading.The ideal candidate for this role will already have some Paralegal experience. You will be enthusiastic and will have a good degree of resilience and composure to provide a high- quality and professional service to our fee earners of the Court of Protection Team and our clients.You will be part of a rapidly expanding, friendly team and valued for your individual contribution with support to develop your skills and experience by offering training to the right person.ResponsibilitiesProviding support to senior fee earners with their caseloadsMonitoring expenditureObtaining quotations for professional servicesArranging insurance policiesReviewing expert reports and completing/ updating status sheetPreparation of file audits and working budgetsArranging for funds transfers, payment of invoices, opening accounts and completing bank formsMaking arrangements and preparing agendas for Deputys annual meetingsDrafting basic letters and articlesCarry out research on basic legal mattersCreate OPG reportsPreparation of Court formsEnsure file management, case management and administration are kept up to date using IMANAGE, Elite, Matter Sphere, Microsoft Teams and Outlook 365 packagesPreparing forms for benefits reviews, PPO checksExperience / Attributes requiredA genuine interest in working with and on behalf of vulnerable peopleAbility to adapt to difficult situations and provide empathyWork unsupervised within scope of instructions/protocols from senior fee earnersAbility to work effectively in a team and independentlyManage competing priorities and deadlines independentlyExperience with financial transactions and calculationsExcellent IT skills plus good knowledge of Microsoft Office packagesGood verbal and written communication skills, including some basic draftingGood interpersonal skillsBenefits25 days holiday4% employer contribution and 4% employee contribution towards the pension schemeLife Assurance - 5 x final salaryAn additional days holiday for your birthdayA weekly Wellbeing hour8 hours per annum for charity workSeason ticket loanCycle schemeCash back medical planDiscounted retail benefitsBring your dog to workSocial committee eventsTeam structure4 x Partners4 x Associate Solicitors3 x Senior paralegals6 x paralegals5 x Administrators
