Job Title: Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) ManagerSalary: up to £55,000 per annum dependent upon experienceLocation: Ramsgate, KentAeropeople have partnered with a global designer and manufacturer of electronic instruments and electromechanical devices who are now looking to hire a permanent Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to be based at their site in Ramsgate.Established more than 60 years ago, the company employ more than 21,000 employees in 35 different countries. They are a leading global provider of industrial technology solutions serving a diverse set of attractive niche markets, recognised as a global provider of third-party MRO services to commercial, regional and general aviation customers as well as military, helicopter and business jet markets. As a global manufacturer of electronic instruments and electromechanical devices they offer specialised services for more than 5,000 components over a variety of aircraft systems with capabilities covering aircraft windings, electrical power, hydraulic components, landing gear and safety equipment.The successful candidate will be based at the Ramsgate site but will oversee the EHS functions across their sites in Ramsgate, Stansted and Luton.Main Responsibilities: Compliance & Regulatory Oversight:Ensure compliance with UK HSE legislation and environmental regulationsMaintain up-to-date knowledge of ISO standardsPrepare for and manage external audits and inspectionsRisk Management:Conduct risk assessments and hazard analysesDevelop and implement control measures to mitigate risksLead incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are takenPolicy & Procedure Development:Create and update EHS policies, procedures, and manuals and ensure they are communicated and understoodTraining & Awareness:Deliver or coordinate EHS training programs for staff and contractorsPromote a safety culture through awareness campaigns and toolbox talksEnsure new employees receive EHS inductionsMonitoring & Reporting:Track and report on EHS performance metricsMaintain records of accidents, near misses, and environmental incidentsUse data to identify trends and drive continuous improvementSite & Project Support:Conduct site inspections and safety auditsSupport engineering teams in designing for safety and sustainabilityEnsure safe practices during construction, maintenance, and operationsEnvironmental Management:Manage waste disposal, pollution control, and resource conservationOversee environmental impact assessments for projectsDrive initiatives to reduce the organization’s carbon footprintHealth Surveillance & Monitoring:Implement and manage health surveillance for employeesMonitor for early signs of work-related ill healthRisk Assessment for Health Hazards:Identify and assess occupational health risksEnsure COSHH assessments are up to date and controls are in placeBenefits:Basic salary up to £55,000 dependent upon experienceOvertime available at x 1.5 normal rate during the week/ x 2 normal rate at weekendsCompany pension (6% employer/ 3% employee)Salary sacrifice twice per year25 days Annual Leave (increases to 26 after 10 years’ service) plus Bank holidaysWestfield health allowance towards services of employee’s choosingCareer progression available and qualifications/ training funded by companyAnnual pay reviews as standard/ additional pay reviews through progressionFree onsite parkingLife Assurance x 4 salaryMonthly Wellness BreakfastEmployee assistance programmeCompany days outCharity eventsEmployee discount scheme through pension provider (Aon)Long Service AwardsVouchers to reward non sicknessChristmas vouchersReferral bonus (£1,000)About You:Previous experience in an EHS Management roleAerospace sector experience is preferred but other sectors will be consideredUp to date compliance knowledge in UK HSE legislation and environmental regulationsPrevious experience managing external audits and inspectionsAbout Aeropeople:Whether you’re looking for your next job or searching out the next superstar to join your team…Aeropeople’s expertise and experience is entrenched in the aerospace, aviation, engineering, motorsport, automotive, and defence industries.
