HGV Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled and experienced HGV Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) to ensure they are safe, roadworthy, and operating efficiently.Below, you will find a complete breakdown of everything required of potential candidates, as well as how to apply Good luck.Key Responsibilities: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on HGVs including engine, transmission, suspension, brakes, and electrical systems.Diagnose faults using manual and computer-based diagnostic equipment.Conduct vehicle inspections and safety checks in accordance with DVSA standards.Complete service records and job cards accurately and on time.Carry out MOT preparations and ensure all vehicles meet legal compliance.Perform roadside repairs and recovery when required.Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.Liaise with drivers and management to report defects and progress.Keep up-to-date with industry best practices and new technology.Additional Requirements: Flexibility to work shifts or weekends if needed.Commitment to health & safety and workshop procedures.Ability to use diagnostic tools and repair manuals.Benefits: Competitive salary and overtime opportunities.Company pension scheme.Ongoing training and development.PPE provided.Location:The ideal candidate will be based in our main yard in Rainham, Gillingham but will be required to travel to our operational yard based in ShorneTPBN1_UKTJ
