About UsPlease read the information in this job post thoroughly to understand exactly what is expected of potential candidates.We are a dynamic and growing group of five businesses with a combined turnover of over 10 million, operating across;ArchitectureBuildElectrical EngineeringBuilding MaintenanceInteriorsWe are looking for a capable and driven Management Accountant to support our Financial Controller in overseeing the financial operations of the group.You will play a key role in the financial management of the group, providing insightful reporting and ensuring the accuracy of financial information across all five entities.This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a varied, fast-paced environment and is comfortable juggling multiple priorities across multiple businesses.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee the monthly closing process by managing key balance sheet accounts such as provisions, intercompany transactions, and accruals to ensure accuracy and compliance.Produce comprehensive monthly balance sheet reconciliations for all entities, identifying potential risks and opportunities for improvement.Work with the financial controller in preparing detailed monthly management accounts including profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements for five trading entities.Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planningPrepare and submit VAT returnsOverseeing CIS returns, checks and reconciliation prior to approving submission by the teamMonitor cash flow and working capital requirementsSupport project accounting needs, including cost tracking and profitability analysisPrepare project budgets and monitor project costs.Track and forecast project financials such as revenues, costs and margin.Prepare monthly billing for projectsContribute to the development and implementation of financial systems and process improvementsAssisting with other ad-hoc tasks as requiredKey RequirementsIdeally we would like you to be a full/part Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA etc.). However, candidates with extensive experience will be considered; as well as assistant management accountants wishing to take that next stepAt least 3yrs practical work experienceEngineering or Construction background preferred but not essentialStrong Excel skills and experience with accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, etc.)Experience of preparing and posting month end journalsExperience of ledger/control account reconciliationExcellent attention to detail and organisational skillsAbility to work independently and manage multiple tasks and deadlinesStrong interpersonal and communication skillsAssist the Financial Controller to oversee a small teamCIS compliance knowledge would be desirable but not essentialBENEFITS INCLUDE;Competitive salary (DOE)33 days holiday(including bank holidays)Training & development opportunitiesSocial eventsOn site car parkingEnhanced maternity & paternity payExtensive wellbeing support including EAPMonument are an equal opportunities employer and promote equality and inclusion in the workplace.
