Design Manager North West Commercial | Industrial | Education | Extra Care | Residential Location: Warrington, Preston, Liverpool & Manchester Salary: Competitive Package Contract Type: Permanent About the Role We are seeking an experienced and proactive Design Manager to join our growing team and take responsibility for leading the design process across a diverse portfolio of projects. Working on schemes within commercial, industrial, education, extra care and residential sectors , you will play a key role in ensuring that design solutions are practical, cost-effective and fully aligned with client requirements. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Design Manager who thrives on collaboration and problem-solving, and who enjoys being at the heart of project delivery. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the design process from pre-construction through to handover. Coordinate design information between consultants, subcontractors and internal teams. Ensure designs are buildable, compliant and aligned with budget, programme and quality expectations. Chair design meetings and provide clear communication between all stakeholders. Identify and mitigate design risks while driving value engineering opportunities. Support bid and pre-construction teams with technical input for tenders and presentations. Maintain strong client relationships, ensuring expectations are met and exceeded. About You The successful candidate will be a confident communicator with a strong technical background, excellent organisational skills and a track record of managing the design function on a variety of projects. Essential Requirements: Previous experience as a Design Manager (or Design Coordinator ready to step up). Strong knowledge of construction processes and technical detailing. Experience across commercial, industrial, education, extra care or residential projects. Excellent leadership and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
