Job Description We are seeking an experienced Bid Writer to join a well-established Main Contracting organisation in Portsmouth, This role suits someone with a strong technical background and a proven ability to produce persuasive, high-scoring tender submissions within the engineering or construction.This main contractor has been running for the last 50 years specialising new build and refurbishment projects between 1m & 9m. The other half of the business focuses on citywide maintenance contracts in Southampton, Portsmouth, Woking and West Sussex working with local councils & universities. Key ResponsibilitiesProduce tailored written responses for tendersTranslate complex engineering or construction information into clear, compelling content.Create original, bespoke responses without copying and pasting.Condense lengthy technical information into concise, high-quality answers.Collaborate with technical teams to gather accurate bid information.Work towards achieving top tender scoring, especially for council submissions.Manage multiple deadlines and contribute to 10-12 bids per quarter.Requirements Experience as a bid writer or similar tendering role.A strong, proven track record in construction bidding.Exceptional written English with persuasive writing skills.Technically confident, able to understand and explain engineering concepts.Highly organised, detail-driven and disciplined under deadlines.Strong communication, editing and project-management skills.Degree or relevant professional qualification preferred.What They OfferHybrid working - 2 to 3 days from home per week.Monday-Friday, Between 8.30am to 5pmCompany pension scheme.Discounts and cashback benefits, including gym and shopping offers.Cycle-to-work scheme and green car scheme.Easy access via public transport.JBRP1_UKTJ
