Supplying into aerospace, defence, space and specialist industrial markets, this business is known for precision, innovation and engineering excellence.They are now seeking a Senior Electronics Design Engineer to join their R&D function, taking ownership of complex electronic system design from concept through to production release.This is a technically demanding role suited to an experienced engineer who thrives in high-integrity, regulated environments.The RoleYou will be responsible for leading the design and development of analogue and digital electronic systems used in high-performance applications.Key Responsibilities:Full lifecycle electronic design (concept, schematic capture, PCB layout oversight, validation, production release)Analogue and mixed-signal circuit design (low-noise, precision measurement, power management)Digital design including microcontrollers, FPGA or high-speed interfacesDesign for EMC compliance and regulatory standardsSupport environmental qualification (temperature, vibration, shock testing)Conduct design reviews, FMEA and risk mitigationSupport transition from prototype to manufacturingWork cross-functionally with mechanical, systems and firmware engineersProvide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineersRequired ExperienceDegree qualified in Electronic Engineering or related discipline8+ years' experience in electronic design within aerospace, defence, instrumentation or similar high-reliability sectorStrong analogue design capability (signal conditioning, power electronics, sensor interfaces)Experience with PCB design tools (Altium, Mentor, or similar)Understanding of EMC/EMI mitigation techniquesExperience working to regulated standards (e.g. aerospace or defence compliance frameworks)Familiarity with FPGA or embedded systems advantageousExperience taking products from concept to productionThe Ideal ProfileTechnically rigorous with strong analytical abilityComfortable working in structured engineering and gated design processesDetail-oriented with high documentation standardsCollaborative team player within multidisciplinary environmentsComfortable interfacing with customers or external stakeholders when requiredWhat's on OfferCompetitive salary and performance-related bonusPrivate healthcare and enhanced pensionOpportunity to work on cutting-edge, mission-critical technologyClear technical progression pathwayStable long-term growth within a globally recognised engineering businessWR Engineering are the #1 recruitment partner for engineering, manufacturing & technical sales jobs.
