Job Description We are currently partnering a Local Authority in the South-West, in their recruitment for a Planning & Highways Lawyer on a locum basis for an initial 3-month contract.The team are ideally looking for someone to undertake full-time hours (37), and the rate is between 50 - 60 per hour (negotiable subject to PQE).The role is based predominantly from home, with cover of one planning committee per month in the South West.Duties will include (but are not limited to): Managing a varied caseload of planning matters, including s106 and s278 agreementsAttending meetings and advising Council Officers and Members in regards to legal issues, governance and procedureIndependently managing and progressing key planning cases, including S.106s and deeds of variationsDrafting and advising s.106 agreements, CIL, certificates of lawful use and advising on other planning related mattersRequirements:Qualified Solicitor Experience working within a local authorityWorking hours:Up to 37-hours per weekPlease note that you require recent experience to apply for this role.James Andrews is acting as an employment agency and business in relation to this role.At James Andrews Recruitment Solutions we try to respond to all applications personally, however, due to the high volume of applications this is not always possible.
