Family/Matrimonial Solicitor for Maternity Cover

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Family Solicitor to join our reputable legal practice. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing expert legal advice and representation at all court levels on family law matters, including care proceedings, child arrangements, divorce and financial settlements. Responsibilities Managing a diverse caseload of family law matters from inception through to resolution, including divorce, separation, child arrangements, and financial disputes. Providing clear and empathetic legal advice to clients on their rights and options. Drafting court applications for divorce, residence/contact and NMO applications Negotiating settlements and representing clients at court hearings when necessary. Maintaining accurate case records and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and procedural rules. Building strong relationships with clients, offering support throughout often sensitive proceedings. Collaborating with colleagues across departments to ensure comprehensive client care. Requirements Qualified solicitor with a valid practising certificate specialising or experienced in family law. Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex legal issues clearly and empathetically to clients. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases efficiently under tight deadlines. Proficiency in IT systems relevant to legal practice for case management and document drafting. Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a professional environment. Previous experience handling family law cases is essential. Familiarity with Legal Aid Management System is beneficial. Children Order Accreditation and/or Court Childrens Guardian Accreditation beneficial but not essential. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards at all times.
