Senior Quantity Surveyor

AVK-SEG is a market leading specialist contractor delivering power infrastructure for data centres across the UK. Our commercial teams oversee pricing, partnerships, supply chain, contracts, and manage the profitability of our major projects.We are seeking a Senior QS Lead to take full commercial ownership for £20m+ Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) led projects, along with to oversee and mentor a small team of two commercial staff.Role ResponsibilitiesCradle-to-grave commercial management, cost reporting and contract administration Work closely with clients, engineers, operations, and major subcontractors to protect value and drive commercial performance.Full accountability for cost reporting, CVRs/CBRs, valuations, and final accountsManage client and subcontractor variations and commercial negotiationsLead procurement of M&E subcontractors and manage major contracts (JCT, FIDIC, etc.)Track cost and value through robust Excel-based reporting modelsAct as a senior commercial stakeholder across operations, engineering, and client teamsEnsure alignment with government or regulated frameworks where requiredWhat are we looking for?Essential:Senior QS with strong M&E or power infrastructure experience (civil backgrounds also considered)5+ years managing £20m+ projects from start to finishConfident in contract management, reporting, and stakeholder engagementHighly accountable, self-starting, and comfortable running projects independentlyStrong Excel and commercial reporting capabilityComfortable leading and coaching others to achieve common goalsDesirable:Quantity Surveying (QS) or Commercial Management degreeRICS accredited (or working towards)Experience in scalable or high-growth construction businesses
