An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Payroll Administrator to join a leading national charity. This is a part-time, temporary role within the Payroll team, focused on maintaining accurate employee records and ensuring the smooth delivery of payroll services to support the organisation’s vital work.Key responsibilities of the role:Provide excellent customer service to managers and employees, promoting a positive and solutions-focused attitudeMaintain the HR/Payroll database in an accurate and timely manner, producing reports as requiredProcess and update changes to employee records, including new starters, leavers, and contractual changesCollect and process monthly sickness and control sheet returnsAssist with payroll calculations and ensure accurate processing of paymentsPrepare and remit payroll schedules to external bodies for monthly deductionsSupport the weekly payment run of staff expensesValidate and process staff vehicle documentation for mileage purposesManage the payroll team mailboxes, organising and responding to emails appropriatelyAssist with monthly pension tasks such as issuing auto-enrolment letters and enrolling staff into the schemePrepare and send monthly audit letters to relevant stakeholdersUndertake any other payroll or HR administrative tasks as reasonably requestedIdeal candidate profile:Experience in a payroll environment (preferred but not essential)Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, and OutlookBasic to intermediate Excel skills, with the ability to produce and summarise statistical information clearlyStrong record-keeping skills with experience of maintaining accurate written and electronic systemsNumerically confident, with the ability to prepare reports and present data in an accessible wayUnderstanding of confidentiality principles and ability to maintain discretion at all timesProactive, organised, and able to manage multiple tasks within deadlinesWillingness to pursue relevant qualifications and undertake further training as requiredLocation: Central LondonSalary: £16-18 per hourWorking hours: Part-time, 22.5 – 30 hours per weekWorking pattern: Remote - with occasional travel to Central London officeContract: 1-3 month temporary contractThis vacancy is being actively shortlisted, so early applications are encouraged.
