Estate Surveyor

We are currently working in partnership with a Local Authority in based in Devon, who are recruiting for a Senior Estates Surveyor on a 3-month rolling contract. The position is due to start immediately, with the potential to go full time. The daily rate of pay is circa £400 – £450 via an Umbrella company.The ideal candidate will be MRICS/FRICS qualified and a RICS Registered Valuer, bringing significant post-qualification experience in commercial estates management and valuation. They will be demonstrating strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills, while confidently managing stakeholders, mentoring junior surveyors, and ensuring compliance across a varied property portfolio.Duties will include (but are not limited to): Managing a diverse commercial property portfolioUndertaking valuations, rent reviews, lease renewals and re-gearsNegotiating lettings, disposals, acquisitions, and landlord/tenant mattersOverseeing day-to-day estate management including service charges, dilapidations, and tenant issuesProviding professional property advice across the organisationSupervising and mentoring Assistant Estates SurveyorsEnsuring compliance with property law and health 'safety requirementsExperience required:Chartered Surveyor (MRICS/FRICS) & RICS Registered ValuerStrong knowledge of commercial property management & property lawSignificant post-qualification experience in estates management & valuationWorking hours:37.5 hours per week Monday – Friday, Flexible Start/Finish TimesPlease note that you require recent experience to apply for this role.James Andrews is acting as an employment agency and business in relation to this role.At James Andrews Recruitment Solutions we try to respond to all applications personally, however, due to the high volume of applications this is not always possible.
