This role offers the opportunity to work in a small, highly skilled team, driving the development of state-of-the-art technology platforms. You will have the opportunity to make a big impact.Key ResponsibilitiesBuild state of the art Technology Platforms for the design and production of high efficiency MicroLED productsTechnical lead on the epitaxial growth of III-V semiconductor materials gallium nitride (GaN) or gallium phosphide (GaP)Support strategic IP development and contribute to technical publications/patentsOversee the analysis, development, and testing of new processes, including characterisation, process control, and quality assuranceCollaborate closely with engineering teams including Process Engineering, Equipment Owners, Characterisation & Test, and Shift Engineers in order to deliver successful outcomesEnsure compliance with all operational standards, including health 'safety, environmental, and FAB procedures.Identify and implement opportunities for innovation, improvement, and efficiencyMaintain high-quality standards while developing in a production environmentMentor and develop engineers, building expertise and fostering growth across the teamDrive continuous improvement in epitaxial yield, throughput, and cost efficiencySupport new material development and exploratory R&D projectsExperience & Attributes(Ph.D. (or Master’s with extensive experience) in Materials Science, Physics, or related field5–10+ years of hands-on MOCVD epitaxy experienceTechnical expert within gallium nitride (GaN) or gallium phosphide (GaP)Hands-on experience with MOCVD systems (Veeco, AIXTRON, etc.)Experience in scaling processes to production and leading technical teamsA proven track record of bringing new technologies to fruitionA very good understanding of the engineering challenges relating to the development and manufacture of LEDsKnowledge of the technology landscape and competitionFamiliar with gated product development processesFamiliar with Failure Analysis, Defect classification and quality toolsCreative thinking to optimize processes under complex constraintsAbility to stay motivated through setbacks or inconclusive resultsAdvantageExperience within PhotonicsExperience with MicroLEDKnowledge of optical, thermal and/or electrical simulationExperience of analogue and power technologyKnowledge of device processing
