If you meet the requirements and are looking for a long-term opportunity leading to permanent work in industrial surface protection we'd love to hear from you.The OpportunityYou will be involved in delivering anti-corrosion protection to ferrous and nonferrous surfaces. This includes mechanical preparation, abrasive blast cleaning (open and closed loop), and applying a variety of protective coating systems such as one and two-pack epoxies.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain a safe working environment and comply with all legal and procedural regulations.Perform surface preparation (hand, mechanical, blasting) and assist with blast set-up as needed.Apply coatings using brush, roller, or spray knowledge of spray set-up is beneficial.Understand coating systems: primers, high build coatings, one and two-pack systems.Perform quality control checks, including film thickness and environmental readings.Use access equipment such as scaffolding and mobile platforms.Knowledge, Skills & ExperienceStrong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.Desirable: experience on nuclear or construction sites.Ability to follow instructions and adapt to changing work demands.Positive team contributor with a collaborative approach.Honest, open, and professional attitude.Qualifications & RequirementsTrain the Painter Silver/Gold, OPITO, or ICATS Blasting certificationExperience in coatings, blasting, or sprayingSecurity Requirements:Successful candidates must be eligible to undergo BPSS and SC Clearance to work at the dockyard (Support will be provided through the application process).Pay Rates & Allowances:When Blasting:PAYE - Basic: 22.00, OT1: 28.60, OT2: 35.20 Backshift: 28.60 Nightshift: 35.20UMBRELLA PAYE Basic: 28.88, OT1: 36.87, OT2: 45.38 Backshift: 37.66 Nightshift: 46.44(Blasting work makes up most duties.)When Painting (Gold Rates Silver&Bronze rates avail. ):PAYE - Basic: 18.00, OT1: 23.40, OT2: 28.80 Backshift: 23.40 Nightshift: 28.80UMBRELLA PAYE Basic: 23.56, OT1: 31.12, OT2: 38:30 Backshift: 30.74 Nightshift: 37.92(Painting will be ad hoc depending on work programmes.)Taxable lodge allowance for travelling workers:PAYE - 50.65 per dayUMBRELLA PAYE - 65.84 per day21 days annual leave + statutory bank holidays38-hour basic week, with overtime available (Weekend and overtime work may be required based on business needs).TPBN1_UKTJ
