Project Manager Heavy Engineering & Construction (Plymouth)Salary: 60,00080,000 per annumEmployment Type: Full-time, PermanentWant to make an application Make sure your CV is up to date, then read the following job specs carefully before applying.NEOS Engineering is recruiting on behalf of a leading engineering and construction business for an experienced Project Manager to support the delivery of large-scale heavy engineering and construction projects across the UK. This role is ideal for a professional with a strong mechanical background looking to operate as second-in-line to a Senior Project Manager, assisting with the management of complex construction environments while supporting Principal Contractor responsibilities.As a Project Manager, you will work closely with the Senior Project Manager and wider project teams to oversee mechanical, civil, and structural works, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the Senior Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and managing large-scale construction and heavy engineering projectsAssist in managing multi-skilled site teams (up to 50 personnel) and subcontractorsOversee the installation of steel structures, concrete foundations, and general civil worksSupport delivery of heavy mechanical and engineering build projects, e.g., recycling plants, quarry plants, energy-from-waste facilitiesMonitor project progress, budgets, and commercial performance, providing reports and updates to senior managementMaintain compliance with CDM regulations, Health & Safety legislation, and company proceduresCoordinate site logistics, resources, and operational planning with colleagues and stakeholdersAttend client meetings and liaise with key stakeholders under the guidance of the Senior Project ManagerWhat Were Looking ForExperience managing large-scale construction projects in industrial, mining, quarrying, or similar heavy engineering environments (general housebuilding or commercial developments not applicable)Strong mechanical engineering backgroundFamiliarity with NEC contractsProven ability to support Principal Contractor responsibilities on siteExcellent communication skills, both technical and professionalStrong organisational and leadership skills with the ability to support multi-skilled teamsClean UK driving licenceFluent English (spoken and written)Essential QualificationsBlack CSCS Card / NVQ Level 6 or 7SMSTSTemporary Works Co-ordinatorIOSHFirst AidDesirable QualificationsAppointed PersonQuarry Passport or NEBOSHWhy Join? xjdpvnf Full-time, site-based role with travel across UK locations as requiredCompetitive salary in the region of 60,00080,000, depending on experienceCompany vehicle and additional benefits availableOpportunity to develop further under an experienced Senior Project Manager and progress into a senior roleIf youre an experienced Project Manager with a mechanical engineering background and are looking to step into a high-profile construction role supporting large-scale heavy engineering projects, apply today through NEOS Engineering.
