Production Coordinator

This Production Coordinator role is based within a modern fabrication facility delivering projects from initial CAD design through to full-scale manufacturing. The company provides premium workshop solutions, offering services such as CNC panel bending, laser cutting, powder coating, and assembly. Working closely with the General Manager, the Production Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring customer orders are efficiently scheduled, progressed, and despatched on time. The role requires close collaboration with department leaders and the drawing office to maintain smooth production flow, clear communication, and effective control of raw material and work-in-progress (WIP) stocks. Timely stock replenishment and proactive production management are essential aspects of this position. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with the General Manager to identify and communicate production risks such as staff shortages, bottlenecks, and equipment issues. Support recruitment, development, and recognition of team members. Manage and optimise stock levels, accuracy, and cost efficiency through effective ordering and expediting. Oversee personnel and process performance management. Maintain accurate personnel records including inductions, training, and appraisals. Ensure staff are fully utilised and drive initiatives to improve productivity. Provide support to the Quality Management function when required. Maintain high standards of housekeeping and workplace organisation. Work closely with the manufacturing team to ensure smooth coordination of operations. Review new customer orders and manage the creation and control of work order documentation. Monitor and replenish material stocks as needed. Create purchase orders and expedite deliveries to maintain production flow. Identify and manage product or process defects. Promote and enforce Health & Safety policies across the production area. Ensure compliance with quality standards through verification, dimensional checks, scrap analysis, and root cause investigation. Drive initiatives to reduce waste and improve efficiency. Perform additional related duties as required. Qualifications and Experience Education: Level 3 or 5 Certificate or Diploma in Management Studies. HNC in an engineering discipline (preferred). IOSH or NEBOSH certification (preferred). Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience in a fabrication or machining-based manufacturing management role.
