Job Description KierBAM are a Joint Venture (JV) partnership between Kier and BAM UK & Ireland - BAM UK & Ireland's infrastructure segment is currently delivering the redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site located in Plymouth and we are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor.Due to the site being a high-security military naval base, additional security checks will be required a BPSS level of security clearance is necessary. These checks can take up to 8 weeks to process. Only candidates holding EU, NATO, 5 Eyes, or MISWG member passports and who have been UK residents for the last 5 years can be considered for this role.Your teamLocation: Devonport Dockyard, PlymouthContract: Permanent, 42.5 hours a weekMaking PossibleIn this role, you will be working in a live MOD facility. Your day to day tasks will include:Provide commercial input including financial and contractual performance forecasts to the management team. Help ensure that business targets and KPIs are met / exceededEnsure cash flow is maximised including ensuring payments are made and received on timePreparation and review of monthly cost reports for area, together with review of results and consideration of trends with other contract team membersForecasting and monitoring spend against approved Client budgetsPhysical measurement of works and agreement of same with client and subcontractorsAgreement of certification and payment of subcontractor accounts - monitoring of such accounts against forecastsImplementation and compliance with the contract change control procedure and monitoring thereof including communications to client as appropriateManaging sub-contractors including sending out enquiries, collating prices, comparing with tender, negotiation, order placement, agreement of account and paymentTo assess, review and mitigate commercial and contractual risks and implement Kier Group's policies for risk managementClient facing role so good communication skills are essentialFrom time to time, you may be required by the Company to perform other tasks, which are not included in the above description, but are within your capabilities and, where necessary, training, and full support will be givenWhat do you bring to the role?Essential:Professionally qualified operator and/or Graduate Qualifications - Quantity Surveyor, Commercial Related (HNC, BSc, MSc)CSCS White PQP/AQPFully converse and experience of NEC ContractsExperience with the use of CEMAR desired but not essentialExperience working with Coins / Causeway accounting systemsTeam player and working with a highly skilled diverse teamHolder of a Full UK Drivers LicenceEducated to Degree level, or equivalent experienceExperience within a similar roleConfident IT skills, proficient in the use of MS Office in particular ExcelExcellent Communication skills both written and verballyMust be an excellent organiser with proven time management skillsDesirable:Professional Accreditation desired eg.
