This is a high-profile opportunity to join a major defence programme, contributing to the delivery of a proven, NATO-backed platform for the British Army.Day-to-day youll be:Leading the establishment and maintenance of configuration baselines across programmesManaging engineering change control processes including Change Requests, Notices, and Control BoardsCollaborating with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to ensure consistent CM practicesMaintaining accurate configuration records and ensuring traceability of requirements and design changesDriving continuous improvement in configuration management processes and toolsThis role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.Essential experience of the Principal Configuration Management EngineerSignificant experience in configuration management within defence, aerospace, or automotive sectorsProficiency with CM tools such as Windchill, Teamcenter, or similar PLM systemsStrong stakeholder engagement and communication skillsProven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teamsExperience in lifecycle management and engineering change controlQualifications for the Principal Configuration Management EngineerDegree in engineering, information systems, or a related technical disciplineStrong understanding of CM principles and standards (e.g., ISO 10007, DEF STAN 05-57)Security ClearanceThe successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
