Job Description Job Title: HR Officer SalarySalary: 35kAnnual Leave: 25 days + bank holidaysWork Hours: Monday-Thursday 08:30-17:00 and Friday 08:30-14:00Role DescriptionThe HR Officer will support the effective delivery of HR services across the business by providing guidance, advice and administrative support on a wide range of people-related matters. The role will help ensure that HR policies and procedures are implemented consistently, develop the HR team, ensure employees are supported, and the organisation remains compliant with employment legislation.Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe below list is not exhaustive, but the main duties and responsibilities will be:Support the implementation and day-to-day operation of HR policies, procedures and systems.Work closely with managers across the business to provide guidance on HR policies and processes and support them in managing people-related matters.Support recruitment activity by preparing job descriptions and adverts, managing applications, shortlisting candidates, and coordinating interviews.Assist with the development and maintenance of HR policies relating to areas such as working conditions, performance management, equality and diversity, disciplinary procedures and absence management.Maintain and regularly review the Staff Handbook, ensuring updates are communicated to employees.Support salary review processes where required.Maintain accurate employee records, including attendance and absence data, ensuring information is stored in line with company policy and legal requirements.Manage with payroll processing and provide support with employee queries relating to pay and benefits.Provide guidance on employment policies and procedures to ensure compliance with current employment legislation.Support the management of employee relations matters, including absence, disciplinary and grievance processes.Assist with workforce planning activities by maintaining employee data and providing HR administrative support.Coordinate training activities, including organising new starter inductions and supporting managers to identify training needs.Support the implementation of onboarding processes for new employees.Assist with performance management processes across the organisation.Coordinate work experience students and school visits.Provide general HR advice and administrative support to managers and employees as required.Knowledge, Skills and BehavioursGood understanding of HR processes and employment legislation.Experience in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment is ideal.CIPD Level 3 Experience using HRIS systems.Awareness of business operations and the role HR play in supporting them.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues at all levels.Good IT and numeracy skills, with experience using HR and payroll systems.Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise workload effectively.Ability to interpret and explain HR policies and procedures clearly.Professional, approachable and able to handle sensitive or confidential information appropriately.Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.Good communication skills, both written and verbal.Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively under pressure.
