Service Advisor Independent Automotive Garage Location: Peterborough Salary 29k - 35k Hours : Monday - Friday 07:30 - 17:00 - Every other Saturday 07:30- 12:00 Our client is a trusted independent automotive repair and maintenance workshop dedicated to providing exceptional customer service, high-quality workmanship, and honest advice who pride themselves on delivering a friendly and professional service. Role Overview As a Service Advisor , you will be the key point of contact between customers and the workshop. Youll handle customer enquiries, book in vehicles, manage repair orders, and ensure customers are kept informed throughout the repair process. Youll play a vital role in delivering outstanding customer service and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the front of house operations. Key Responsibilities Greet customers warmly and provide an excellent first impression. Schedule service and repair appointments efficiently to optimise workshop capacity. Prepare and explain estimates, invoices, and job cards clearly and accurately. Liaise between customers and technicians to ensure clear communication about vehicle issues, progress, and costs. Provide honest and informed advice about repairs, maintenance, and service options. Obtain customer authorisation for additional work when necessary. Maintain accurate records and documentation in the garage management system. Handle payments and ensure all transactions are processed correctly. Follow up with customers after service to ensure satisfaction and encourage repeat business. Support the workshop with parts ordering and job coordination as needed. Maintain a clean, organised, and professional reception area. Skills & Experience Required Previous experience as a Service Advisor in an automotive environment is essential. Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and repair processes. Strong organisational and multitasking abilities. Confident in using computer-based garage management or booking systems. Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Ability to work calmly under pressure in a busy workshop environment.
