Job DescriptionJob Title: Design Engineer - Air and Fuel SystemsRate: 36-43 p/hr (depending on experience)Location: Peterborough, CambridgeshireThe OpportunityAs a Design Engineer for Air and Fuel Systems in the Component Engineering department, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality, reliable air and fuel system components - from concept through to production. Essential Skills:A degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience)6-8 years of relevant engineering experienceSolid understanding of mechanical fundamentals and engine components/systemsExperience of using CAD (Creo) to design powertrain components: Internal combustion reciprocating engines.Expertise in fuel system, air system, EGR system and turbochargersAbility to use simulation tools for self-analysis of what they are creating.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver component development projects within time, cost, and quality targetsLead and participate in design reviews to gain business support and approvalDevelop specifications and collaborate with suppliers to ensure robust design and deliveryConduct FMEA assessments and coordinate simulation and validation (DVP&R) activitiesInvestigate technical issues using 8D problem-solving methodsUnderstand customer requirements and translate them into effective design solutionsPrepare and review technical documentation to support production releaseEngage with global teams to implement solutions at manufacturing facilitiesPromote continuous improvement using Lean principlesDesirable:Experience with fuel systems, air systems, EGR systems, or turbochargersFamiliarity with APQP, FMEA, and DVP&R processesBackground in the off-highway diesel engine sectorExperience in simulation and test-based component developmentPlease apply for more information.
