Job description Milberg Ltd - Solicitor 5+ years PQELocation: Peterborough (hybrid working) About Us This is an opportunity to do something different in the law. We are a young, fast growing and entrepreneurial firm specialising in consumer collective actions. Milberg Limited is based in Peterborough and has a team of approximately 30 staff. It provides client care services on a number of large consumer cases to other law firms, including in particular Milberg London LLP, a boutique litigation law firm based in London with a common heritage. Current cases include the diesel NOx emissions litigation. Key responsibilities We are seeking an experienced solicitor of at least 5 years experience to lead the legal team in Peterborough and act as the firm''s COLP (Compliance Officer for Legal Practice). Initially we anticipate this will be a part time role, 2 days per week, with the opportunity to work remotely some of the time. The successful candidate will work alongside the management team in Peterborough (which consists of the Operations Manager, Compliance Officer for Financial Affairs (COFA) and three Case Leads) to manage a team of 25 agents providing frontline support to clients, supervising the legal advice delivered to clients. You will also work with and received support from the senior solicitors at Milberg London, both those running the litigation and the compliance officers. Key Skills and Qualifications Essential: Have at least 5 years PQE Have experience of commercial litigation be bright and self-motivated be a good communicator, used to working with different stakeholder groups Desirable: Experience of group litigation or claims management an advantage Experience of acting as COLP or of a compliance type role an advantage_There will be a high level of responsibility from the outset .
