Job DescriptionOpen to Contract and Permanent applicants Job Role: Design Manager Water Non-InfrastructureLocation: Peterborough Hybrid (days required can be discussed) Rate: 500 - 550 / day Salary: Negotiable depending on experience About the Role:Join the award-winning @one Alliance, a progressive and collaborative delivery partnership in the water sector. As a Design Manager, youll lead the development and delivery of innovative, value-driven design solutions for non-infrastructure water projects such as treatment works, pumping stations, and groundwater abstraction schemes.Youll oversee a multi-disciplinary design team, working closely with internal technical specialists and external suppliers to produce integrated, sustainable designs that support project affordability, reduce carbon, and enhance natural capital.Key responsibilities include:Leading the development and management of Engineering Project Plans (scope, schedule, cost, risk, and resources)Managing the performance and development of a high-performing design teamEnsuring quality assurance and right-first-time design principles across all outputsCoordinating internal discipline leads and external suppliers to deliver integrated solutionsCollaborating with project functions (e.g. planning, procurement, construction) to drive efficient deliverySupporting programme milestones and driving design affordability and sustainabilityFulfilling CDM responsibilities, including design risk assessments and H&S documentationPromoting innovation, digital design tools, and continuous improvementAbout you:Degree-qualified in Engineering or related field (preferred)Chartered or working towards chartered statusStrong experience managing design delivery and multi-disciplinary teamsConfident in supplier coordination, design integration, and project risk managementExperience in a Design & Build environment (beneficial but not essential)Committed to innovation, sustainability, and collaborative deliveryEffective leader with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skillsReach out to Charlie Knight @ Advance TRS to find out more about this exciting opportunity and take the next step in your career.
