Site Manager Residential & Commercial Developments | Peterborough | Full Time | Working hours areApply below after reading through all the details and supporting information regarding this job opportunity.Monday to Friday, 7:30 am 5:00 pm, with some flexibility and potential for hybrid working when not on site| 40,000 50,000 (DOE)Established over 25 years ago, our client is a multi-disciplinary building and civil engineering contractor delivering a wide range of projects across East Anglia and the East Midlands..Due to continued growth and the award of several new projects, they're delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for an experienced Site Manager to take the lead on a new residential development in the heart of Peterborough. The project comprises 12 one-bedroom apartments and 4 one-bedroom bungalows, offering variety and challenge in equal measure.You'll be joining a small, dedicated, and hands-on team, taking full responsibility for the day-to-day management and successful delivery of this busy site..Are you the right person for the job?A minimum of 3 years' experience managing building or fit-out projectsStrong leadership, organisational, and communication skillsA keen eye for detail and a commitment to high standardsSMSTS (or equivalent) certificationA valid CSCS cardFirst Aid trainingScaffold inspection certification (advantageous but not essential)Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)IT literacy experience with Multibuilder or similar software is desirableA full, clean UK driving licenceWhat will your role look like?Taking overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of a busy construction siteManaging and supervising direct labour and subcontract tradesMonitoring and updating the project programme to ensure key milestones are metEnsuring Health & Safety compliance, including producing and reviewing:Risk assessmentsMethod statementsTraffic management plansConstruction Phase Health & Safety Plans (CPHSP)Reviewing and approving subcontractor RAMSLiaising with architects, structural engineers, MEP specialists, and building controlManaging materials call-offs, reconciliation, and minimising waste or damageCompleting plant and goods returns on a weekly basisReading and interpreting technical drawings and specificationsChairing weekly site and coordination meetingsMaintaining accurate records for inspection, sign-off, and final handoverThis is a hands-on role where you'll lead a small on-site team (around 10 people) and ensure that all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.What can you expect in return?A competitive salary of 40,000 50,000 (dependent on experience)Car allowance and fuel cardCompany pension28 days annual leave (including bank holidays)Opportunities for ongoing training and professional development, including leadership and management coursesA supportive, growth-oriented culture with genuine career progression opportunitiesFlexible working with potential for hybrid arrangements when not on siteInterview ProcessThe interview process will typically include a one-stage online interview, with a possible second stage depending on the candidate and client availability.What's next?
