Location: Home-based with UK travelSalary: c.£85KContract: Full-time | PermanentABPCO, the Association of British Professional Conference Organisers is seeking an experienced and strategic Executive Director to lead our continued growth and impact within the wider conference and events profession.Reporting to the Joint Chairs and working closely with the Executive Committee, you will lead all aspects of the Association —driving strategy, membership growth, communications, events, financial oversight - and ensuring robust governance and compliance.This is a hands-on leadership role, managing a small team of specialist external contractors, with responsibility for all operational functions of the Association as well as the delivery of key programmes such as the Festival of Learning and Excellence Awards.You’ll drive innovation across digital platforms and member services, keeping us at the cutting edge of the events industry and ensuring inclusive practice across all of APBCO’s activities.You’ll also serve as the public face of the organisation, representing ABPCO at events and within industry networks, enhancing member value through engagement, professional development and community-building. You’ll also build partnerships, secure sponsorship and raise ABPCO’s public profile.The ideal candidate will bring senior-level experience within a membership body, association or event-led organisation, with a track record of success in stakeholder engagement, event management and strategic planning.You will be financially literate, digitally confident and highly organised, with excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently.
