Job Description Project Manager - Major Infrastructure (HVDC)Location: Glasgow or Perth (with regular site presence in the Western Isles)Contract Role | Day Rate DOEWe are supporting a major UK infrastructure organisation delivering a nationally significant energy programme as part of the transition to a low-carbon future.Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the delivery of a large-scale High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) project. This role will focus on the execution of a major civil and building package within a complex, multi-disciplinary environment.The RoleReporting to a Senior Project Manager, you will take full responsibility for the delivery of a significant project package within a large infrastructure programme. This is a site-focused role, requiring strong leadership, commercial awareness, and the ability to manage multiple interfaces across contractors and stakeholders.You will play a key role in ensuring delivery is safe, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the delivery of a major civil/building package within a large infrastructure projectManage contractor performance and ensure alignment with programme objectivesTake full ownership of contract management, including change control and interface managementDevelop and manage project schedules, ensuring effective execution through all phasesDrive a strong health and safety culture, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirementsCoordinate across multidisciplinary teams, including engineering, commercial, and delivery functionsMonitor project performance, risks, and costs, taking proactive action where requiredBuild and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholdersAbout YouWe are looking for an experienced Project Manager with a proven track record of delivering complex infrastructure projects in regulated environments.You will bring:Demonstrated experience delivering large-scale civil or infrastructure projects (100m+)Strong knowledge of contract management frameworks such as NEC3 or similarExperience managing contractors and complex project interfacesStrong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teamsExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsA strong understanding of project governance, controls, and delivery processesDegree (or equivalent experience) in engineering, construction, or project managementDesirable ExperienceExperience working on HVDC, substations, or mission-critical infrastructureBackground within energy, utilities, or major infrastructure projectsWhat's on OfferOpportunity to work on a nationally significant infrastructure programmeExposure to a complex, high-value project environmentA role with real impact on the UK's energy transitionCompetitive day rate
