Job Description Assistant Quantity SurveyorLocation: PerthCategory: CommercialContract: Fulltime, 40 Hours per week, Monday Friday, Hybrid available after three months employmentBEAR Scotland is a leading road maintenance and management service provider in Scotland, maintaining and improving Scottish Trunk Roads including bridges and structures through some of the most scenic, but challenging, parts of the country.We develop and build local management and delivery teams in each area where we hold a contract. These teams are supported by both national partners and local SME suppliers to provide an economic, flexible, resilient and sustainable service.We have an exciting opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial Team working on our long-term contract with Transport Scotland to manage and maintain the Scottish Trunk Road Network.Roles and Responsibilities:As a Quantity Surveyor, your overall objective of this role is to ensure the effective delivery of the commercial function within the Contract.You will collaborate with the team to:Measure and value progress of works based on a schedule of ratesCollection, collation and storage of relevant measurement dataEnsuring all site and measurement records are completed by our operational teamsManagement of Sub-Contractors including assessing applications, preparing payment notices, monthly liabilities and accrualsReporting the Cost/Value analysis of various sized projectsKnowledge, Skills and Experience:Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management Degree / Qualification (Essential)Quantity Surveying ExperienceBackground in Civils or Construction Environment (Desirable)Strong IT Skills Particularly with Microsoft ExcelAbility to set priorities and work to strict deadlinesSound knowledge of MMHWWhy BEAR?At the heart of our organisation are our people talented, dedicated professionals who help drive our success.
