Job DescriptionHSEQ Advisor30,000 - 35,000Perth ScotlandThe McDermott group are looking for an HSEQ Advisor to be based in Perth. You will play a crucial role in helping the organisation maintain high standards in health, safety, environmental protection, and quality management.Overview of the RoleHSEQ OfficerSalary: 30,000 - 35,000Holidays: 30 days. 1 additional day per year of service, maximum of 5 days. ResponsibilitiesTo cultivate and maintain strong customer relationshipsResponsible for management of and liaison with HSEQ auditors to acquire/maintain Companys accreditationsCreation, Monitoring and Maintenance of the procedures referenced within the Quality Management SystemCoach, guide, advise and where necessary and instruct company employees including management on all HSEQ matters to ensure adherence to legalisationPlan and perform audits, recording both successes and failings to implement best practiceProvide relevant training to internal personnelEnsure that the company processes are delivering their intended outputsReport on the performance of the HSEQ processes and on opportunities for improvementEnsure the promotion of customer focus throughout the organisationEnsure that the integrity of the HSEQ management system is maintainedCarry out risk assessments and consider how risks could be reducedOutline safe operational procedures which identify and consider all relevant hazardsCarry out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented and adhered tooEnsure working practices are safe and compliant with legislationPrepare health and safety strategies and develop internal policies relevant to the businessLead in-house training with managers and employees about all QHSE matters and risksKeep records of inspection findings and produce reports that suggest improvementsRecord incidents and accidents and produce statistics for managersKeep up to date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and any developments that affect the employer's industryAttend Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) seminars and read professional journalsProduce management reports, newsletters, and bulletinsEnsure equipment is installed safelyManage and organise the safe disposal of hazardous substances, e.g., asbestos (COSHH)Advise on a range of specialist areas, e.g., fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery, and occupational diseasesManage and monitor emergency procedures, signage, PPE, COSHH control etc.Essential SkillsNEBOSH General or equivalentDemonstrate a passion for Health, Safety, Environment & Quality with robust knowledge and understanding of these subjectsAble to work as a member of a team, but also capable of working alone to tight deadlines as appropriate, setting own high-quality standardsProficient with MS Office Word, Excel, and PowerPointA strong working knowledge of Risk assessments, COSHH, RIDDOR, and Display Screen EquipmentAuditor training/experienceA hands-on implementer of processes and changeFull UK Driving licence and must be willing to travelMust have full rights to work in UK / IDLR or Settled StatusPlease note we do not provide sponsorships to those who require it and will only accept applications from those who have full rights to work in the UK with no restrictions and IDLR/Full Settlement status.
