Deputy Manager (Food and Beverage focus) YHA Treyarnon Bay Fixed, permanent contract Full time, 42.5 hours per week 29,996 per annum (applies to all, including those under the age of 21) Staff accommodation is available at a rate of 69.83 per week Are you passionate about creating exceptional guest experiences through outstanding food and drink service? As our Deputy Manager, youll be the driving force behind the food and beverage operations at our stunning coastal hostel. Youll lead by example on the front line - supporting, training, and inspiring our front-of-house team to deliver consistent, high-quality service in line with YHA standards. Your role will include: Overseeing all aspects of food and beverage service to ensure we meet and exceed guest expectations. Delivering hands-on training and development for team members, ensuring the YHA steps of service are consistently followed. Supporting the Hostel Manager in daily operations and deputising in their absence. Leading by example with warmth, professionalism, and a strong customer-first attitude. Maintaining excellent standards of presentation, hygiene, and health & safety compliance. About You Youll be an experienced hospitality professional with a solid background in food and beverage service and team leadership. Youll bring a calm, kind, and confident approach to management - someone who thrives on seeing their team grow and guests leave with smiles. Were looking for someone who: Has previous experience in hospitality management, ideally in a food-led environment. Understands and can deliver exceptional service standards. As a Deputy Manager youll support the Hostel Manager with the day-to-day management of the hostel. What will you be doing as a Deputy Manager? We are a friendly team and will provide the training required for you to undertake the role. However, there is plenty for you to get stuck into from day one, including: Delivering an excellent customer experience to all hostel guests. Contributing towards the achievement of targets across all aspects of the hostel operation including food and beverage, and responsibility for maximising revenue whilst controlling expenditure. Supporting the Hostel Manager by managing a team of employees and occasional volunteers. Contributing to the team effort in the day-to-day operation of the hostel, undertaking housekeeping, reception, and food and beverage tasks on a daily basis. What Skills and Experience do you need to be a Deputy Manager? Our Deputy Managers support the Hostel Managers in managing the hostel team, the operational budget and safeguarding all guests. To provide this service we are looking for candidates who have: Experience in hospitality or customer service, including the management and delivery of a quality service Ability to manage varying pressures, include peaks in workload demands can prioritise, able to deal with conflicting duties Experience of managing a team experience of leading others, providing guidance to members of your team (desirable) Food safety level 2 and APLH level 2 qualifications (desirable) Basic IT skills (ideally Microsoft Office) able to use Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel Knowledge and understanding of the core purpose of YHA what YHA does and how we do it For more information about the role and the skills and experience required, please refer to the job description.
