Job Description An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Estimator to join a well-established regional contractor delivering high-quality new build, refurbishment and restoration projects across the residential, healthcare, commercial and education sectors throughout Oxfordshire and the surrounding areas.Projects typically range in value from 300k to 5m, including technically challenging and design-led schemes where attention to detail and commercial accuracy are critical.Estimator Role Description:As Estimator, you will play a key role in the pre-construction phase, producing accurate and competitive tenders while working closely with the commercial, design and delivery teams.You will be involved from early feasibility through to final tender submission, contributing to bid strategy, risk assessment and value engineering.Estimator Key ResponsibilitiesPreparing detailed cost estimates for new build, refurbishment and restoration projectsTaking off quantities from drawings, specifications and schedulesAssessing tender documentation and identifying risks and opportunitiesObtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotationsWorking closely with design, commercial and construction teams during pre-constructionProducing competitive tender submissions in line with client requirementsAssisting with value engineering and cost planning exercisesAttending pre-tender meetings, site visits and post-tender negotiations where requiredEstimator CriteriaProven experience as an Estimator within a main or regional contractor environmentExperience with refurbishment, restoration or listed buildings is advantageousStrong understanding of construction methods, materials and pricingExcellent numerical, analytical and organisational skillsAbility to manage multiple tenders simultaneouslyConstruction-related qualification or relevant trade backgroundProficient in estimating software and Microsoft ExcelFull UK Driving LicenceEstimator Benefits:Competitive salary and benefits packageLong-term career opportunity with a stable regional contractorExposure to a varied and interesting project portfolioSupportive and collaborative working environmentOpportunity to progress within the commercial teamJBRP1_UKTJ
