College Accountant

A small, well-established educational charity in Oxford is seeking a senior finance professional to take ownership of its finance function. This newly created role offers a mix of hands-on financial management and strategic leadership, supporting senior management and trustees while strengthening systems, controls and long-term financial planning. Key Responsibilities Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial planning Produce management accounts and reports for senior stakeholders Manage all day-to-day finance activity including payroll, payments, reconciliations, cash flow and fees Prepare statutory accounts and oversee audit and Charity Commission compliance Improve financial systems, processes and controls About You Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or working towards qualification Strong charity accounting and compliance knowledge Confident operating as a standalone finance professional Clear communicator with strong attention to detail Right to work in the UK Desirable Experience in charities, higher education or small organisations Knowledge of restricted funds and Gift Aid By applying you will be registered as a candidate with Marc Daniels Specialist Recruitment Limited.
