Job Description Technical Support Team Leader - Development Management (Planning)Initial 6 Month Contract, with a view for extensionOxfordshire, UKCompetitive Day RateSellick Partnership is proud to assist a local authority in the Oxfordshire area in seeking an experienced Technical Support Team Leader to join its Development Management/ Planning divisionThis is a key leadership role responsible for managing a planning technical support function and ensuring the smooth, compliant and efficient operation of Development Management processes. The postholder will play a central role in team leadership, systems oversight and supporting complex planning workflows.Key responsibilities of Technical Support Team Leader includes:Leading and managing a Development Management Technical Support Team of six direct reports, including Technical Support Assistants and GraduatesOverseeing validation, registration and administration of planning applicationsEnsuring statutory compliance, data quality and accurate planning publicationsSupporting performance management, reporting and service improvementsActing as a senior technical point of contact within the planning serviceContribute to planning system optimisation and digital improvementsExperience required for the Planning leadership role:Proven experience within Development Management technical support in a local authorityExperience leading, supervising or coordinating a planning technical/admin teamExcellent understanding of planning processes, workflows and statutory requirementsConfidence working in a fast-paced local authority planning environmentDesirable experience would be:Working knowledge of MasterGov / DEF or similar systemsExperience with other planning systems such as Uniform, i-Clipse or similarExposure to service improvement or system enhancement projectsThis opportunity is well suited to candidates with a background as a Planning Technical Support Team Leader, Senior Technical Officer, Planning Support Manager or Supervisor within a local authority Planning service.If you believe you are well suited to the role of Technical Support Team Leader, please apply now.
