HGV Mechanic

Employment: Full-time Pay: 19.00 per hour Base : Head Office in Ossett, with occasional work in Leeds & Wakefield Opal Contracting is hiring an experienced HGV Mechanic/Fitter for our client in Ossett. Youll keep a mixed fleet (with tankers) safe, compliant and on the roadworking with a tight-knit team and taking real ownership of your workload. Key Responsibilities Carry out weekly vehicle maintenance to planned schedules Diagnose and repair defects across the fleet Complete PMI checks and ensure vehicles meet compliance standards Service hydraulics and electrical control systems Undertake minor damage repairs (bodywork and mechanical) Maintain accurate records of all work, parts and inspections About You Proven experience as a tanker and vehicle mechanic (HGV essential) Strong working knowledge of vehicle, plant machinery and plant maintenance Comfortable working independently and as part of a team Proactive, problem-solving mindset with a can-do attitude Relevant qualifications/certificates in Mechanical or Vehicle Maintenance (desirable) What Youll Get 19 per hour (full-time, permanent) Stable on-site role in Ossett, with occasional visits across Leeds & Wakefield Supportive environment with clear standards and well-planned maintenance How to Apply Opal Contracting is an equal opportunities employer.
