Building Surveyor - Senior or Associate level

Job DescriptionTake the next step in your career now, scroll down to read the full role description and make your application.Senior / Associate Building SurveyorIm working with a well-established, multi-disciplinary property and construction consultancy looking to appoint a Senior or Associate Building Surveyor within their Building Surveying team.This is a great opportunity within a 12-strong Building Surveying team that includes four Partners. There is a clear and realistic progression pathway over the next 35 years, with the potential to move through to Associate and ultimately Partner level.The RoleYou will take a senior position delivering a broad mix of professional and project-led building surveying services, primarily for Local Authorities and Housing Associations.Your responsibilities will include: Leading and managing complex projects up to 5m in value Full contract administration across the lifecycle of schemes Party Wall matters and defect analysis Pre-contract advice including procurement strategy and project setup Producing detailed specifications, schedules and contract documentation Administering JCT contracts including Intermediate and Minor Works Site inspections with responsibility for risk, compliance and H&S oversight Acting as Employers Agent where required Mentoring junior surveyors and supporting APC candidatesThe workload is technically strong and varied, with a focus on social housing and public sector frameworks, alongside exposure to commercial, healthcare and education projects.What Im Looking For MRICS qualified in Building Surveying (or strong qualified by experience) Proven contract administration experience Experience managing complex projects up to 5m Strong report writing and client-facing capability Solid understanding of building construction and Party Wall etc. Act 1996 Experience working under JCT forms of contract Experience with Local Authorities or Housing Associations is highly desirable Full UK driving licenceYou must be confident taking ownership of projects, advising clients directly and contributing to the development of the wider team.Why This Role Clear route to Associate and Partner level Strong pipeline of secured work Collaborative and supportive team environment 35-hour working week London-based candidates considered with minimal office attendance (1 day per week) Competitive salary and benefits package including 25 days leave, private healthcare and professional fees paidIf you are an ambitious Senior Building Surveyor ready to step up, or an existing Associate looking for a clearer progression plan, this is a strong long-term move.Click Apply or get in touch for a confidential conversation with Andrew Pearson at EC Property Recruitment. xjdpvnf My contact number is and you can find all my details on LinkedIn.
