The post provides organisational leadership for AHP education, ensuring high quality clinical skills training, professional development and pastoral support.The postholder represents AHP education in internal and external forums and works closely with academic partners, service leads and the Placement Development Facilitator to coordinate student and work placements, strengthen practice based learning and enhance the student experience.The role supports the full AHP workforce pipeline, from student placements and preceptorship to advanced practice and career development, ensuring learners are equipped to thrive in community healthcare settings.In addition, the postholder leads Moving and Handling (M&H) education across the organisation, providing strategic oversight, ensuring compliance and quality assurance and promoting safe practice in collaboration with senior colleagues and programme facilitators.Main duties of the jobLead the design, coordination and delivery of AHP education and clinical skills programmes, including simulation, digital and blended learning, skills labs and in-practice teaching. Monitor and improve education quality through feedback, audits, incidents and research. Support induction, preceptorship and ongoing development for AHPs, providing specialist advice to supervisors and practice educators and delivering train-the-trainer and upskilling sessions.Coordinate AHP student and work placements with academic partners, supervisors and service teams. Support students and early-career AHPs through coaching and in-practice teaching, ensuring learning environments are safe, welcoming and aligned with workforce needs. Contribute to community career pathways that support recruitment and workforce sustainability.Act as organisational lead for AHP education in internal and external forums, providing visible leadership and promoting continuous learning. Work with clinical and operational leads and academic institutions to strengthen AHP education and workforce development.Lead Moving and Handling education, ensuring compliance and safe practice. Oversee the trainer faculty, deliver practical sessions and support policy, audit and improvement activity. development of AHPs to meet the organisational strategic priorities, service requirements and individual needs.Develop learning programmes in response to specific training needs in collaboration with theQualityand Operational leads, otherAcademy team membersand Service Leads.?Develop andfacilitatelearning programmes using a range of methods, including traditional classroom-based teaching, written guides, online learning, and virtual sessions, as well as VR and AIPlan and deliver educational programmes within clinical skills, covering the four pillars of healthcare practice: Clinical Practice, Education, Leadership, and Research.?Lead and deliver on clinical skills induction for newly qualified nursing and AHP staff transitioning to the community (out of hospital settings).?Plan andfacilitateclinical skills courses and other learning activities, such as 1:1 training, classroom-based sessions, and simulation-based training.?Promote innovative methods of education to maximise dissemination of knowledge and enhance the learning experience.?Lead and deliver training programmes that incorporate the development, organisation, quality, and governance of clinical practice learning within Bromley Healthcare.?Seek opportunities to share learning from patient feedback, clinical incidents, and serious investigations to ensure recommendations for safe practice are integrated into clinical education.?Manual Handling Training and ComplianceLead in the delivery of Moving and Handling training, ensuring that teaching is comprehensive, evidence-based, and aligned with best practices.?Be the content lead for manual handling training,advisingBromley Healthcare on implementation, duration, and content, ensuring compliance with best practice, policy, and legal requirements.?Work with the Service and Clinical Lead to prepare, plan, deliver, and evaluate Manual Handling training, including:?Non-Clinical (non-patient handling) training?Clinical Updates?Staff Induction?Ad-hoc and Specialist Workshops?Support and develop Corporate and Key Trainers to provide Manual Handling Training, ensuring compliance with legislation and best practice.?Provide training and ongoing development and train the trainer for Manual Handling link colleagues.Workforce Development and Student SupportProvide direct support to staff within the AHP clinical/work-based learning environment.Collaborate with placement facilitator and service leads to increase AHP student placements within the organisation, ensuring a high-quality learning experience.?Support the development of supervisors and assessors in clinical practice, ensuring that learners receive quality guidance and support.Work collaboratively with clinical leads and services on recruitment,selection, and workforce planning for apprenticeships and seconded students.?Collaborate with placement facilitators to increase AHP student placements within the organisation, ensuring a high-quality learning experience.?Lead the development of all staff supervising and assessing students in clinical practice, fostering a positive learning culture.?Ensure student placements meet quality standards, responding to feedback and supporting audits in partnership with education providers and SEL ICB.?Work collaboratively with external stakeholders, including education providers, Capital AHP, professional bodies, and SEL ICB, to develop learning strategies.Contribute to the recruitment process for pre- and post-registration AHP students byparticipatingin selection days and interview panels.?Quality, Governance, and ComplianceAct as an internal consultant and change agent in relation to healthcare practice and education.?Communicate anddisseminaterelevant national and local policy decisions concerning AHP education and workforce development.?Ensure appraisals and mandatory training compliance aremaintainedin line with benchmarked standards.?Lead and deliver on workforce transformation projects, collaborating with partners on joint commissioning bids.?Lead in the design and delivery of interventions that support the development of supervision and practice learning, criteriaDegree-level qualification in an AHP profession (OT, PT, SLT, Dietetics, Podiatry etc.HCPC Registration (or other relevant professional registration).Post-graduate Practice Educator qualification OR formal teaching qualification OR evidence of formal teaching/training experienceDesirable criteriaMoving & Handling Trainer Accreditation OR willingness to obtain within timeframe (reflecting strategic M&H leadership role)Advanced/specialist community or advanced practice qualification in an AHP professionExperienceEssential criteriaSignificant post-registration clinical experience with strong community understandingExperience designing/delivering AHP education and clinical skills programmesExperience supporting students/learners in practice, supervising assessors or
