Job Summary Aughton Surgery are looking to recruit 2x Salaried GP's (4 sessions each). We are flexible in terms of which days these sessions are worked. However, please note, that 2 of the 4 sessions will need to be worked on 1 full day, and you will be required to be duty GP for this full day per week.We ensure that our Duty GP's have sufficient time to complete all tasks related to being on-call, and we are happy to discuss how we manage that with you. When on-call, you will be required to stay in the practice until closing time at 6:30pm.We offer 6 weeks (pro‑rata) of annual leave, and 1 week (pro‑rata) of study leave for our GPs, and we pride ourselves on being a flexible and considerate practice. We are happy to discuss salary expectations individually with applicants.A Salaried GP works as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care while complying with the contract.Furthermore, the post-holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.The role is to support, mentor, and supervise other healthcare professionals within the organisation and be an integral part of the general practice team.Main duties of the jobThe delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled populationThe provision of services commensurate with the primary care contractTo clinically examine and assess patient needs from a physiological and psychological perspective and plan clinical care accordingly referring patients to other services/agencies in a timely manner, utilising Practice and any other local guidelinesGeneric prescribing adhering to local and national guidancePrioritise health problems and intervene appropriately to assist the patient in complex, urgent or emergency situations, including initiation of effective emergency careEffective management of long‑term conditionsTo support patients to adopt health promotion strategies that promote healthy lifestyles and apply principles of self‑careProcessing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasksReview medications following the appropriate policies, NICE/local clinical guidelines and local care pathwaysMaintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidanceWork collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workloadAdhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit processAbout Us Aughton Surgery has 4 partners (3 GP's and 1 Practice Manager), 3 Salaried GP's, 1 Practice Nurse, 1 HCA and 1 Clinical Pharmacist.
