Manufacturing Buyer

Vickerstock are working in partnership with an international equipment manufacturer on the appointment of a Buyer on a full-time permanent basis. Our client have exciting plans for the next 5 years and beyond as they diversify their products and services to a growing customer base.As the Buyer, you will contribute to production and organisational goals by procuring materials, components, and services. You will collaborate closely with suppliers and internal teams to ensure purchases are delivered on time, cost-efficient, and meet quality standards, while aligning with build schedules and departmental KPIs.In your new role:Generate, update, and oversee purchasing documentation, ensuring system records remain accurate and current.Proactively manage outstanding and shortfall requirements to support operational continuity and align supply with production demand.Liaise with supply partners to enhance performance in areas such as lead times, cost efficiency, and quality standards.Review and maintain supplier performance data and ensure relevant information is kept up to date.Coordinate inbound logistics and monitor shipments, addressing any discrepancies in delivery or invoicing in collaboration with relevant teams.Reference technical documentation and material lists where necessary to confirm requirements.Investigate and resolve issues relating to non-conforming or unsuitable materials.Maintain strong working relationships across internal functions and external partners.Contribute to initiatives focused on cost optimisation and process improvement.What you will need to succeed:2 year's in a similar role within manufacturing/engineeringExperience in a supply chain position within manufacturingConfident communicator with both internal and external stakeholdersExperience working with MRPs/ERPs /Competency in MS Excel For a confidential conversation on how Vickerstock can help support you with your next move, get in touch with our supply chain consultant Michael Irwin today!
