Carpenter or Plumber Multi Trade FTC! Due to extra work available here at Fortem, we are looking for an experienced Multi Trade to join our repairs and maintenance team at Amplius Housing for 6 months Although the office is based in Rushden, Northamptonshire. You will be covering predominately properties in the Leicestershire, Kettering and Peterborough patch so travel is essential in this area This role will start as a 6 month contract until July 2026 with a possibility of becoming a permanent opportunity, but we cannot guarantee. You will be responsible for most aspects of property maintenance and repairs to Social Housing Properties which uses core carpentry or plumbing skills and a range of other trade skills including Tiling, Flooring etc. Core Hours are Monday-Friday Start on site at 8.00am- finish at 4.30pm. Work Van, Fuel card, PPE and Tools provided! You will be ensuring all work is undertaken to a high standard with the minimum of supervision. The Multi Trade takes ownership of work, aiming for 'First time Fix' on all jobs, operating within the company Health and Safety guidelines, and remaining within budget and time parameters, whilst being Courteous and professional around the tenants The Customer Fortems successful contract with Amplius supports nearly 8,000 houses, and were expecting that to increase significantly in 2025. Our contract includes Repairs & Maintenance, Voids, Complex Works and FRA workstreams with Planned Works and Preventative Maintenance as well. Duties and Responsibilities Completing Carpentry/Plumbing repairs work for all social housing properties as per the specification, working in a timely and productive manner with specific turnaround deadlines as part of the repairs and maintenance team. Advising Supervisor in a timely manner when other trades are required Working in partnership with other operatives to complete projects. Recording and submitting accurate data using relevant business systems electronic devices Affording excellent customer service to client representatives and tenants Arranging purchase of materials required to deliver the works in a planned and efficient manner Comply with safeguarding policy and H&S standards at all times Operating within the companys occupational road risk policies and procedures Using a PDA smart phone to correspond daily with colleagues to update progress and completion information for your allocated work What you will need Essential: NVQ/qualifications in relation to relevant trade (Carpentry or Plumbing) or equivalent, however anyone qualified by experience will also be considered Full driving licence Must be able to pass Basic DBS checks Desirable but not essential: Social housing experience Benefits We provide Pro rata benefits as follows for the FTC Company Van for work purposes only and Fuel card All Power Tools, Uniform and PPE provided 25 days annual leave + bank holidays & your birthday off (34 days total) pro rata Pay review every year 26 weeks full pay maternity leave 8 weeks full pay paternity leave Vast directory of training on bespoke in-house Learning Management System Private pension 3% employer contribution pro rata Who we are Fortem are Social Housing property experts.
