LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT LEADDerby, DE22 3NE | Permanent | 37.5 hours per weekAre you passionate about people development and training delivery?We’re looking for a Learning & Development Lead to join our senior leadership team on one of ISS’s largest and most impactful PFI contracts - supporting over 800 frontline colleagues who help keep essential services running for patients and communities.This is an exciting opportunity for someone ready to take full ownership of learning across a dynamic operational environment.From onboarding to ongoing training compliance, you’ll play a key role in shaping the skills, safety, and engagement of our workforce.You’ll design, manage, and deliver training programmes that not only meet compliance needs, but also inspire personal growth and team effectiveness. The role offers both independence and influence - ideal for someone who thrives in people-focused settings with lots of stakeholder interaction.Please note: Some flexibility is required from the successful candidate regarding working hours. The hospital is a 24/7 operation and therefore the L&D Lead will occasionally be required to do early shifts/late shifts (perhaps a couple of times a month) and also work 1 in 8 weekends (with days given back in lieu). Key ResponsibilitiesLead the delivery of all site training activities, including mandatory and competency-based learningDeliver engaging inductions, toolbox talks, and tailored sessions across multiple departmentsMonitor and report on compliance with training KPIs and statutory standardsMaintain accurate records and evidence to support audits and internal reviewsContinuously review and improve training content to meet evolving needsPartner with line managers to identify and address skill gaps or development opportunitiesDrive operational excellence through competency frameworks and robust documentationAbout YouDemonstrable experience of working in a Learning & Development or Training type role - e.g. L&D Coordinator, L&D Advisor, Trainer (or equivalent)Experienced in the creation of training materials / training courses etcComfortable in the delivery of trainingStrong data skills: able to confidently manage training dashboards and compliance reports (Excel proficiency essential)Excellent communication and presentation abilities, both written and verbalHigh level of organisation and attention to detail, with strong time managementUnderstanding of GDPR, confidentiality, and working in sensitive operational environmentsA proactive, supportive mindset, with a passion for growing othersWhy ISS?At ISS, people are at the heart of everything we do.
