Job Description An established residential developer is looking to appoint a Regional Estimator to join its Nottingham team.This position sits at the front end of the development process and is responsible for producing land viability appraisals and cost estimates up to land purchase stage, before handover to the Quantity Surveying and Buying teams. Working closely with Land, Technical and Commercial teams, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting land bids, assessing risk and helping to maximise the cost-effectiveness of future developments.This is an excellent opportunity for someone with estimating, commercial, groundworks or residential housebuilding experience who is looking to develop within a broad pre-construction role.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare accurate viability estimates and full construction cost breakdowns for proposed developmentsEvaluate costs associated with land acquisition, site preparation, abnormal works and external factors affecting build costProduce financial appraisals to support land bids and development decisionsVisit proposed sites to assess physical and technical constraints that may influence costsWork closely with Land, Technical and Commercial teams to support the appraisal processIdentify opportunities for value engineering and more cost-effective construction solutionsMaintain accurate cost databases, estimates and records for future referenceSupport the preparation of gateway submissions and regional land reportsProvide cost and risk analysis across a range of proposed sitesRequirementsExperience within estimating, commercial, groundworks or residential housebuildingUnderstanding of land viability appraisals, build cost estimating or pre-construction processesKnowledge of ground conditions and technical cost drivers such as remediation, foundations, retaining structures and drainageExperience using estimating or measurement software such as Bluebeam or similarKnowledge of COINS would be advantageous but is not essentialStrong commercial awareness and analytical skillsGood communication skills and the ability to work closely with multiple internal departmentsGood understanding of construction methods and current building regulationsPackage IncludesCompetitive salary26 days holiday plus bank holidaysChoice of company car or car allowanceDiscretionary bonus schemeHoliday buy-back schemeCompany pension schemePrivate medical insuranceHealthshield membershipLife assurance schemeShare purchase planHigh street / store discountsThis is a great opportunity to join a well-established developer in a role that offers genuine breadth, visibility and long-term progression.For more information or to apply, please get in touch for a confidential discussion.
