Section Manager

Are you an experienced Section Manager or Site Supervisor looking for your next role? We are looking for a Section Manager at our Mangreen site in Norwich, Norfolk.Mangreen is a dynamic and multifaceted site with three core operational areas: an inert recovery landfill, inert recycling, and the production of Recycled Asphalt Product (RAP). As part of our continued growth and commitment to operational excellence, we are seeking a proactive and experienced Section Manager to oversee day-to-day site activities and ensure smooth operations in the absence of the Operations Manager. This is a hands-on leadership role where youll take ownership of site performance, drive safety culture, and maintain compliance with environmental and planning regulations.Key Responsibilities:Lead daily site briefings, safety talks, and toolbox sessions to promote a strong safety-first cultureManage contractors across the landfill, recycling, and RAP production areasMonitor and improve operational performance using KPIsMaintain high standards of site housekeeping and presentationControl site costs in line with budget expectationsEnsure full compliance with planning and environmental permit conditionsImplement and maintain SOPs, HIRAs, and the Site Improvement Plan (SIP)Operate weighbridge and loading shovel as neededInspect and document inbound inert waste, ensuring proper acceptance/rejection proceduresMaintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including landowners, farm managers, Tarmac Pave, and third-party traffic management teamsIdeal Candidate Profile:Proven experience in a managerial or supervisory role within a similar industryBackground in Inert Recovery & Recycling, Quarries, RMX, or AsphaltSHE Level 4 or 6 qualification (or willingness to undertake)IOSH Managing Safely certificationStrong understanding of Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of WorkWAMITAB certification (or willingness to undertake)Loading Shovel ticket and experience with weighbridge operationsThe role is based our Mangreen plant in Norwich, Norfolk. The site is easily accessible from Norwich, Wymondham, Great Yarmouth, Lowestoft, Sheringham, Thetford, Swaffham, Fakenham, Cromer, Kings Lynn, Downham Market, Beccles, Gillingham, The Broads, Aylesham, North Walsham, Dereham and the surrounding areas.At Tarmac, who you are matters.
