Job Description Senior Disrepair Surveyor Norfolk Housing Association 48,000 + Car Allowance 37 Hours per Week Permanent An established Housing Association in Norfolk is looking to recruit a Senior Disrepair Surveyor to join their Asset Management team on a permanent basis. This role will lead a team of surveyors delivering condition surveys, responsive repair inspections, and disrepair investigations across the organisations housing portfolio. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced surveying professional with strong technical knowledge and leadership skills to play a key role in improving housing standards and resolving complex property issues. Overview of the role The Senior Disrepair Surveyor will oversee a team responsible for condition surveys, defect diagnosis, and responsive repairs inspections. The role will also support legal disrepair cases, ensuring accurate technical assessments and clear repair specifications to help resolve cases effectively. You will work closely with the Asset Management team, contractors, and residents to ensure works are delivered safely, compliantly, and to a high standard, while contributing to long-term asset planning and data accuracy across the housing stock. Responsibilities Lead, manage and develop a team of surveyors delivering inspections and condition surveysOversee the delivery of the rolling stock condition survey programmeDiagnose building defects including damp, mould, and structural issuesProvide technical oversight of responsive repairs surveys and repair specificationsUndertake inspections relating to housing disrepair cases and prepare schedules of worksEnsure asset data is accurate and maintained to support long-term investment planningCarry out pre, in-progress and post inspections to ensure quality and complianceLiaise with tenants, contractors and internal teams to coordinate works and resolve issuesMonitor contractor performance and ensure value for moneyEnsure compliance with health 'safety, building regulations and housing legislation Requirements Degree, HNC, or equivalent qualification in Building Surveying or similarSignificant experience in residential surveying within social housing or a similar environmentStrong knowledge of building construction, defects and repairs diagnosticsExperience dealing with housing disrepair cases and property inspectionsPrevious experience supervising or managing technical staff or surveyorsKnowledge of housing compliance areas such as HHSRS, damp & mould, fire safety and asbestosStrong communication skills and ability to work with residents and contractorsFull UK driving licence and access to a vehicleContact: James Glover at Service Care Solutions on 01772 208967 or via email at [email protected]
