Job Opportunity: Construction Manager (Mechanical Bias) Norwich Sector: Tier 1 Contractor Location: Norwich Project Type: Laboratory / Teaching Facility Contract Type: Permanent or Freelance (Subcontractor) Salary: Up to 70,000 (DOE) Are you an experienced Construction Manager with a mechanical bias ? Do you have a track record of delivering high-quality, technically demanding projects? We are working with a Tier 1 contractor who is seeking a skilled Construction Manager to lead the delivery of a complex laboratory and teaching facility project in Norwich . This role offers the chance to take ownership of a challenging build from an early stage, with a strong emphasis on mechanical systems and building services integration. Key Responsibilities: Lead and coordinate mechanical packages on-site, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and programme requirements Manage subcontractors and ensure timely execution of works according to specifications Collaborate closely with M&E consultants, design teams, and site staff Conduct site inspections, progress meetings, and report on project milestones Maintain a sharp focus on mechanical systems integration within a high-performance building Key Requirements: Demonstrable experience as a Construction Manager delivering mechanical packages on complex projects Experience working with Tier 1 or main contractors preferred Background in laboratory, healthcare, or educational environments advantageous SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid qualified Confident communicator with strong leadership and problem-solving skills What's on Offer: Salary up to 70,000 for permanent roles Competitive day rates available for freelance/subcontractor options Opportunity to work on a cutting-edge project with a leading Tier 1 contractor Long-term work based in the Norwich area Interested?
