Job Description Help shape how people travel, cut congestion and carbon, and make sustainable travel the easy choice. Were looking for an experienced Travel Plan professional who can blend project management, behaviour change and marketing flair to lead and grow our Travel Plan team at Smarter Travel Ltd, the sustainable travel arm of Richard Jackson Ltd. Why this role?Lead on Travel Plans for a wide range of residential, workplace and education developments, from initial strategy through to delivery, monitoring and reporting. Take a client-facing position, acting as Travel Plan Coordinator and overseeing Travel Plan Coordinators and marketing colleagues to ensure high-quality, on-time delivery. Work at the intersection of sustainable transport, behaviour change and marketing, designing campaigns that get people walking, wheeling, cycling, using public transport and switching to EVs. Join a friendly, growing consultancy embedded within Richard Jacksons wider transport and engineering business, giving you exposure to multi-disciplinary projects and career progression routes. What youll be doingManaging a portfolio of Travel Plan projects: programming, delivery and monitoring against agreed budgets and milestones. Producing high-quality Travel Plan reports, including data analysis, survey design and performance monitoring. Developing and delivering marketing and engagement campaigns (digital and print) that promote sustainable and active travel choices. Line-managing and mentoring Travel Plan and marketing team members, supporting training, appraisals and recruitment. Building strong relationships with clients, Local Planning and Transport Authorities, suppliers and partner organisations. Creating and curating content for websites and social media, and representing Smarter Travel at external events and presentations. Organising and delivering on-the-ground initiatives from site visits and audits to promotional events and challenges in target communities. What were looking forA degree in a related discipline (e.g. transport, planning, geography, environmental, marketing) or equivalent demonstrable experience. Around 3+ years experience in travel planning, sustainable transport or a closely related/marketing-led role, including project management. Excellent written skills confident report writer and accurate proofreader, with strong copywriting for different audiences and channels. Strong data skills: comfortable with survey design, monitoring outcomes and presenting transport-related data clearly. Confident communicator who enjoys engaging with people from residents and employees to senior clients and public audiences. A genuine interest in sustainable and active travel, behaviour change and community engagement. Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel for site visits, meetings and occasional evening/weekend events. Desirable extras include experience with WordPress, Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) and event planning, but were more interested in your attitude, initiative and ability to get things done. What we offerCompetitive salary from 42,000 to 57,000, depending on experience and the value you bring.
