Job Description About the RoleWe are seeking a Technical Compliance Officer to lead the technical governance of product compliance across the Group. This is a key role responsible for ensuring that all products are fully tested, certified, and legally compliant prior to release to market.You will act as the primary technical interface between the business, certification bodies, and internal stakeholders, ensuring compliance with UK and international regulations while supporting new product development and continuous improvement.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn and maintain all third-party product certifications and accreditations across the GroupLead the technical certification pathway for new products, including:Factory Production ControlProduct testingSafety FMEAEngagement with Notified BodiesAct as the internal subject matter expert on UK and international legislation, Building Regulations, and construction product standardsMonitor regulatory and standards changes, completing impact assessments and briefing stakeholders accordinglyDevelop and maintain a digital Golden Thread of product compliance information, ensuring Declarations of Performance are accurate, current, and accessibleConduct internal inspections and supplier audits to verify compliance with agreed standardsIdentify technical and compliance risks and ensure corrective actions are implemented in a timely mannerPerformance & AccountabilityDeliver new product certifications in line with agreed development and launch plansEnsure all certifications and accreditations remain accurate, current, and compliant throughout the product lifecycleMinimise non-conformances during external audits and ensure effective corrective actionsComplete clear and robust legislative impact assessments for regulatory updatesProtect the business from risk associated with non-compliance, fines, or certification withdrawalAbout YouEssential:Degree or HND/HNC in Engineering or Construction (or equivalent experience)Hands-on experience in product compliance, certification, or regulatory rolesStrong working knowledge of:UKCA and CE conformity markingProduct testing and certification to BS/EN/ISO standardsUK Building Regulations (ADB, ADF, ADL, ADQ)Experience working with Notified BodiesStrong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skillsConfident communicator, able to explain complex technical information to non-technical stakeholdersProficient in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word), with strong technical documentation skillsDesirable:PRINCE2 or equivalent project-management qualificationExperience within PVCu window and door systems or extrusion processesUnderstanding of sealed unit and glass manufacturingExperience using ERP, PLM, or compliance data-management systemsWorking ArrangementsOccasional nationwide travel, with some overnight staysFlexibility required to work outside normal hours when necessaryWhy Join Us?Competitive Salary31 days holiday (increasing with service within 2 years), plus an additional paid day for your birthday with the option to buy more holiday via salary sacrificePension with up to 4 x salary & income protection, with the option to potentially save on tax and National Insurance via our salary sacrifice arrangementComprehensive health & well-being benefits including access to in-house occupational health & well-being resources, discounted gym memberships, employee assistance programme, & mental health resourcesHeavily discounted group discount scheme on all productsSalary sacrifice benefits enjoy perks such as pension, cycle to work, electric car purchase, and additional annual leave, while potentially reducing your tax and NI contributionsCareer development and continuous learning opportunitiesImportant Information About Right to WorkWe're delighted that you're considering joining our team.
