Electrical Technician

Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor, you'll carry out electrical maintenance, inspections and fault-finding to ensure all equipment remains compliant, reliable and efficient.Your new roleOn joining the team, you will carry out day-to-day maintenance and reactive maintenance where required,Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance on port equipment such as cranes, forklifts, loaders and conveyors.Complete checks before starting work, follow procedures and keep equipment compliant.Help with electrical installations and estate-wide electrical works.Find faults and safely get equipment back up and running.Work safely at all times and take part in risk assessments and toolbox talks.Work closely with the Engineering team, contractors and operational staff.What you'll need to succeedNVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).Time-served electrician.Experience working on industrial or heavy-plant equipment.17th or 18th Edition qualified.Good understanding of Health & Safety.Strong teamwork and communication skills.Confident using basic IT (Word, Excel, Outlook).Full UK driving licence.Good fault-finding skills and a methodical approach.What you'll get in returnA competitive salary with overtime at enhanced rates, 25+8 holidays, company pension scheme, employee assistance programme, discount schemes and more.Working hours are Monday to Friday, 08:00-16:30 from Monday to Thursday and 08:00-15:30 on Fridays and a standby rota in place where call-out hours are paid as overtime.What you need to do nowIf you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.If this job isn't quite right for you, but you are looking for a new position, please contact us for a confidential discussion about your career. xjdpvnf Hays EA is a trading division of Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited and acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
