OverviewAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly organised and proactive House Manager to oversee the smooth running of a prestigious private residence in the heart of the New Forest. This role requires a hands-on professional with exceptional attention to detail, strong leadership skills, and the ability to deliver the highest standards of household management. Discretion, loyalty, and professionalism are essential.The RoleThe House Manager will be responsible for ensuring the day-to-day operations of a large home and its associated activities run seamlessly. Working closely with the Principals, family members, and household staff, the successful candidate will combine practical oversight with excellent coordination and service delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee the smooth running of the household, including staff, contractors, and daily operations Lead, train, and motivate a small team of household staff (housekeepers, chefs, maintenance, and external contractors) Act as the central point of contact between the Principals, and wider support teams Manage household budgets, purchasing, and supplier relationships Oversee property maintenance schedules, ensuring high standards throughout the residence Coordinate family and guest schedules, household events, and occasional entertaining Ensure robust household security and health 'safety procedures are in place Maintain discretion and confidentiality at all timesThe Ideal CandidatePrevious experience as a House Manager or in a similar senior household management role within a private residence Strong leadership and people management skills Highly organised with excellent attention to detail Financially competent with budget and procurement experience Service-oriented with the ability to anticipate needs and deliver seamless support Practical, adaptable, and willing to assist hands-on when required Discreet, trustworthy, and professional at all times Ideally familiar with the New Forest or similar rural settings Full UK driving licence**please note accommodation not provided*** As a boutique agency, Colville Search receives a high volume of applications and unfortunately, we are unable to respond to each one individually.
